PERSONALIZED HORMONE CARE FOR WOMEN
Women’s Hormone Optimization
Changes in energy, sleep, mood, libido, mental clarity, metabolism, and body composition can all happen alongside hormonal changes. At Onyx, we take the time to look beyond a single symptom or lab value to understand the bigger picture.
Your symptoms matter
You know your body. Let's find out what's changed.
Hormonal changes can affect women differently. You may be experiencing:
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy
What is BHRT?
Hormone care personalized to your body.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, or BHRT, is a personalized approach to addressing hormones that have declined or become imbalanced over time.
Bioidentical hormones are designed to have the same molecular structure as hormones naturally produced by the body.
The goal isn't simply to change a number on a lab report. Your Onyx provider looks at your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, laboratory results, and individual goals to determine whether treatment is appropriate and create your personalized plan.
YOUR BHRT JOURNEY AT ONYX
Here's What Getting Started Looks Like.
-
Your journey begins with a free virtual Hormone Introductory Appointment with an Onyx provider.
This is your opportunity to talk privately about your symptoms, hormone history, weight or metabolic concerns, previous treatments, and goals — and ask any questions you have about hormone optimization.
There's no obligation to begin treatment. It's simply a place to start.
-
If you're ready to move forward, the next step is a Comprehensive Hormone Assessment for $299.
This includes comprehensive laboratory testing and a one-on-one hormone lab review with a nurse practitioner.
You'll receive an order to complete your blood draw at a Labcorp location near you, making the process easy even though your Onyx care is virtual.
-
Your provider will review your results, symptoms, history, and goals and discuss treatment recommendations with you.
BHRT plans are generally structured in 3-month treatment periods, starting at $499 for a 3-month medication supply.
-
Approximately two weeks before the end of your 3-month treatment period, you'll receive an order for any laboratory testing that needs to be repeated.
You're charged only for the follow-up testing that's needed.
-
After your follow-up labs, you'll meet with your nurse practitioner to review your results, symptoms, response to treatment, questions, and make any adjustments that are needed.
Your initial BHRT medication cost includes this follow-up appointment.
-
Your care doesn't stop between appointments.
The Onyx team is available by phone or email between visits if questions or concerns arise, and your treatment and monitoring continue to evolve based on your individual needs.
WEIGHT + HORMONES, TOGETHER
It's Time For A Reset.
Sometimes, weight is only one piece of the puzzle.
If you've been struggling with stubborn weight changes, low energy, changes in sleep, mood, metabolism, or simply not feeling like yourself, the Onyx Reset takes a more comprehensive look at what's going on.
Instead of treating weight and hormones like two completely separate conversations, we look at the bigger picture and help you understand the options available to you.
THE ONYX RESET
One conversation. A bigger picture of your health.
Explore your weight, hormones, symptoms, health history, and goals with an Onyx provider and discover a more personalized path forward.

Women's Hormone FAQs
-
Not necessarily. Hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause can cause significant symptoms even while you're still having periods.
Whether hormone therapy is appropriate depends on your symptoms, health history, age, risk factors, and individual needs.
-
Onyx chooses not to use hormone pellets because they offer limited flexibility once inserted.
Instead, treatment options such as creams, injections, patches, and other individualized approaches allow your provider to make changes more easily based on your symptoms, lab results, response, and potential side effects.
-
Onyx's compounded hormone creams are designed to absorb quickly into the skin and should not leave you feeling excessively greasy or sticky. Most patients find them simple to incorporate into their daily routine.
-
Onyx's goal is to use the lowest effective dose while closely monitoring your symptoms and lab results. This allows your provider to make adjustments as needed and minimize the risk of unwanted side effects.
-
Onyx typically repeats appropriate laboratory testing approximately every three months before your hormone follow-up. Your provider reviews your results alongside your symptoms, progress, and overall health to determine whether adjustments are needed.
-
Follow-up lab work is not included in the medication cost because each patient's monitoring needs are different.
Rather than including the cost of a large lab panel for everyone, your provider orders the follow-up testing appropriate for your specific treatment plan.
-
The Comprehensive Hormone Assessment is $299 and includes a comprehensive lab panel and one-on-one hormone lab review with a nurse practitioner.
If treatment is recommended, personalized BHRT plans start at $499 for a three-month medication supply. Your provider will review your recommended treatment and associated costs with you before you begin.
-
Declining estrogen levels can contribute to vaginal dryness, irritation, discomfort during intercourse, and other genitourinary symptoms.
Depending on your individual needs, treatment may include systemic hormone therapy, localized vaginal therapy, or a combination of approaches.
-
Every woman responds differently. Some symptoms may begin changing within the first several weeks, while others can take longer as your body adjusts and your treatment plan is fine-tuned.
Hormone optimization is an ongoing process, which is why follow-up and communication with your provider are an important part of your care.
-
Coverage varies, and many insurance plans don't cover hormone optimization services or compounded bioidentical hormone medications.
Onyx offers its hormone program on a self-pay basis and is partnered with Cherry Payment Plans, which may provide eligible patients with financing options.
